KuroKiiro Festival Rules

Like every school festival, the KuroKiiro Festival has a few rules to help everyone enjoy the festivities to their fullest!

1. The Boyd Community Center is a public facility, and the KuroKiiro Festival is a large event. Please comply with requests made by Community Center and Festival personnel to help keep the event running smoothly. Failure to comply with reasonable requests may result in ejection from the event.

2. Parents and guardians are asked to accompany their children aged 12 or younger throughout the Festival at all times.

3. Please walk at all times. Heelies, roller skates, "moon shoes", and other personal mobility aids are not permitted inside the event with the exception of such devices as are used by injured, elderly, or disabled persons.

4. The KuroKiiro Festival is an event for all ages. We remind guests that explicit language and/or gestures will not be tolerated. Consequences will vary with the severity of the infraction and may include ejection from the event.

5. Dress: The Boyd Community Center is a public facility, and the KuroKiiro Festival is an event for all ages. While we welcome costumes, we remind guests that they must tastefully cover both top and bottom halves of the body. Minimum dress standards are a bikini top and shorts/a skirt for women and shorts to mid-thigh for men. (We encourage costumers to consider seasonal weather conditions while planning costumes.) In addition, footwear with a hard sole must be worn at all times. Those with visible undergarments, inadequate coverage, or improper footwear will be asked to remedy the issue or leave the premises until they are properly attired. Repeated violations or refusal to comply with KuroKiiro Festival dress standards may result in ejection from the event.

6. Badges: Your badge serves as your ticket to nearly all weekend events. Please keep it securely attached to your person and visible at all times. Remember, when staff members check badges, they are making sure that the festival is fair for you by making sure that everyone attending an event has paid for that privilege.

Cosplay exemption: People participating in the Hall Costuming contest and the Talent Show may remove their badges while they are being judged or are on stage. While taking pictures the badge may be concealed.

Special Note: Many recent conventions have experienced a problem with counterfeit badges. Remember, most conventions are staffed and run by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis. Counterfeiting hurts these volunteer groups and makes it more difficult for them to put on conventions in the future. With that in mind, anyone found to be actively counterfeiting badges, selling counterfeit badges, or knowingly purchasing counterfeit badges may face some or all of the following consequences:

  • Ejection from the KuroKiiro Festival
  • Blacklisting from future KuroKiiro Festivals
  • Blacklisting from any future Tekkoshocon, Inc. Events
  • Notification sent to other conventions regarding actions taken
  • Legal action taken against the individual

Remember, the ONLY places to purchase your badge are through the official KuroKiiro Festival website, via the Tekkoshocon, Inc. PO Box from the official mail-in form, and at the registration counter inside the event. The ONLY place to pick up your badge is the registration counter at the event. Badges are the property of Tekkoshocon, Inc. and may be revoked at any time.

7. Fighting, whether real or mock fighting, is grounds for ejection from the event. Severe infractions may lead to individuals being banned from future events.

8. Please do not carry or wear signs or loud noisemakers at the Festival.

9. While waiting for events, please wait in a single file line. This is not only a safety issue but a courtesy to fellow attendees and the guests you are in line to see. Line jumping/cutting in line may be cause for removal from the event.

10. Lost items: All lost items, including badges, will be held at the Information Desk next to the Registration table near the main entrance to the building. At the conclusion of the event any remaining lost and found items will be turned in to Boyd Community Center staff. If you have lost your badge, you will need to find your badge or purchase a new one.

11. Please do not sell items of any kind at the convention unless you are an authorized dealer or artist. Violations may be cause for removal from the event.

12. The Boyd Community Center is a smoke-free area. Smoking is prohibited inside the building. If you must smoke, please go outside and step at least 15 feet away from the doors and windows of the building. Please do not block the path to the entrance!

13. As always, the laws of the outside world apply at the KuroKiiro Festival. Gravity still works, red and blue still make purple, and all national, state, and local laws are still in effect.
